Someone used to say that the biggest punishment to a criminal is to ground him/ isolate him. When he gets the feeling that he is so alone and lonely, he knows he is facing the biggest punishment.

    Why people enjoy slighting/ignoring others.

Why human beings, born from the same origin, reveling in the blood of their sisters and brothers.

Why the world suddenly gets brutal, merciless and simmering, under the dome of suffocating silence.

Just because we have a higher intelligence does not mean we differ in animal behavior.
Just watch how cruel nature is in general. A male Lion killing the young so the female will be fertile again so his genes will dominate.
The main difference most of us feel guilt.
Also having intelligence does not always mean being intelligent in one's actions.
Because of our intelligence we have the means to cause mass carnage to each other and nature in general.
It is sad we are like this.
I wonder how the animals around us view this species.

Thank you, Happy. The models you mentioned are admirable. How nice it would be if human beings all acted like them. =] Thank you for your prayers, too. =]

I ask so often these same questions for we are one species. What joy can there be in the harm of another but we are, at times,a clumsy species. Some feel need for power and control with little true understanding of the power of love. This is why I so believe in acts of kindness no matter how small to remind that love is more powerful than fear. The world is a challenging place but through a walk of faith we can live with our own integrity intact and strive to live a life of peace for there are so many models of peace (Ghandi, Jesus, Mother Teresa) who demonstrate one can live a life of kindness and compassion. These models we must celebrate and always remember. Take care. Do not let your studies of the event get you too sad. Read, study and expose inhumanity but do not let it burden your heart. My prayers for your studies.

Because we ARE human! Man's inhumanity to man. How simple to speak of living in peace, of being kind and caring, yet it appears most of us are incapable of doing just that. The world can be a cruel place Jen, but life is what we make of it, and if we can pass on just one kind, good deed in our life, then we have accomplished something! I don't think God expects more of us than we can give, HE knows we try.
